Hey Readers, welcome back to another session. Today I will be writing about the importance of breathing in order to stay cool, calm, collected, and relaxed. Breathing and relaxation are two essential aspects of our lives that are often overlooked. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, leaving little time for self-care. However, taking the time to breathe deeply and relax can have a significant impact on our overall health and wellbeing. Breathing is something that we do automatically, without much thought. However, when we take the time to focus on our breath, we can tap into its incredible power. Your breath often changes when you feel a change in emotions. When you get stressed, happy, angry, it is typically your breath that changes. Deep breathing can help to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and improve lung function. When we breathe deeply, we bring more oxygen into our bodies, which can help to improve our overall health.

Relaxation is also essential for our health and wellbeing. When we're stressed, our bodies produce cortisol, a hormone that can have negative effects on our health. Chronic stress can lead to a range of health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, and depression. Relaxation techniques such as meditation and deep breathing can help to reduce stress levels and promote relaxation.

One of the most effective ways to combine breathing and relaxation is through a practice called deep relaxation. This technique involves lying down in a comfortable position and focusing on your breath. By breathing deeply and intentionally, you can slow down your heart rate and reduce your stress levels. As you focus on your breath, you can also use visualization techniques(we will talk more about this in a later post) to help you relax further.

There are many other ways to incorporate breathing and relaxation into your daily routine. For example, you could try practicing meditation, taking a relaxing bath, or spending time in nature. Even just taking a few deep breaths throughout the day can help to reduce stress and improve your overall sense of wellbeing. Take some actual time to check in with yourself from time to time and notice your breath. Sit in silence without any form of stimulation, I highly recommend this in the morning if you can before you get the day started. Imagine starting the day without any media or messages to consume that could potentially annoy you first thing in the morning. Allow yourself to just take a moment and breathe because we all know how fast paced these days are slowly becoming.

In conclusion, breathing and relaxation are two essential aspects of our lives that should not be overlooked. By taking the time to breathe deeply and relax, we can improve our physical and mental health, reduce stress levels, and promote overall well being. So the next time you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths and focus on relaxation. Your body and mind will thank you.

Until Next Time,

E. Ibadin
